4 Ways to Get a Head Start on Year 12 in the New Year

June 14, 2020joelleva

Year 12 is fast approaching! It may be stressful with many of your peers beginning preparations, so how can you make sure you stay ahead of the crowd?

  1. Do your holiday homework

Some people see this step as optional, but it isn’t! You really need to make sure you have a grasp on some of the essential concepts of each subject before you begin. With English subjects, this extends to reading your texts. More than once, even.

  1. Prepare how you will take notes

It’s a good idea to set up notebooks or computer notebooks in a way that will make it easy to organise information. You will be receiving a lot of information throughout the year, so if your organisational systems are well-established and effective, you put yourself at an advantage.

  1. Consider head-start tutoring

Seeing a tutor before school begins can be a great way to start learning concepts. The longer the amount of time you have been consolidating learning, the better you will remember it at the end of the year and when it really counts.

  1. Don’t overdo it

There is a limited amount you can actually do before Year 12. Make sure not to spend your whole holidays studying – you don’t want to go through burnout before you actually begin! One of the best ways of preparing is to go into Year 12 well-rested and confident in your ability to succeed.

Try not to let the pressure overwhelm you. You can prepare for Year 12 without going overboard: little things can really give you an edge over your competitors.
