2. What inspired you to become a tutor/teacher? What do you enjoy most about it?

4. Can you share a success story from your tutoring experience?
A past student came to me with band 4 results aiming at Band 5, and she achieved her goals in English and got into her degree. But that's not what sticks with me. I remember her fascination with Society and Culture and all that she ended up teaching me. I remember the aha! moments when we worked out what analysis would best support her argument. I remember the excitement of her message after the trials, thrilled that she knew what to write. It's that stuff that sticks with us tutors, long after the marks are allocated.
5. What advice do you have for students struggling with motivation or academic challenges?
It's OK to have moments of low motivation, that's life. Remember your personal reasons for doing this- your goals and vision. How do you want to think about this year or this subject when you look back in a year's time? It can be helpful to check in with someone, like your tutor, and work through it together. And start with small opportunities for revision, like reading for 10 min, working your way up again.
