Both Units 3 and 4 will be covered, with a focus on Unit 4 to assist you with SAC preparation!
In my 4-hour interactive workshop, we will be going through a range of topics to help you maximise your study score in biology. Both Units 3 and 4 will be covered, with a focus on Unit 4 to assist you with SAC preparation.
Unit 3 has many enjoyable topics that are also core knowledge for anyone wanting score well in biology. These include cell biology, immunity and biomacromolecules among others. We will be reviewing this material and focusing on confusing aspects that often cause students to fall behind.
In Unit 4, the topics of inheritance, genetics and evolution will be explored. There will be a focus on certain concepts such as DNA replication, as I’ve found that often these topics confuse many students. In fact, it is completely possible to score an A+ in this section by thoroughly understanding some important concepts!
We will be going through aspects such as:
– How to understand key concepts as opposed to simply memorising them
– Performing well in multiple choice questions
– Learning how to answer short answer questions
– Common tricks that VCAA use in their exams
– Improving time management during SACS and exams
The duration of the workshop will be a mix of different activities which include lots of teamwork. We will be answering VCAA style questions in groups, where everyone can bring their ideas and knowledge to formulate great answers. I will also be spending some time explaining difficult concepts. Interpreting graphs correctly will be another skill we will work on as a group because it is often a source of error under exam conditions.
The first half of the workshop will be spent focusing on Unit 3 to ensure the content is reviewed and clarified. The second half will be about Unit 4 to help you get a head start and learn the foundations of the areas of study.
By attending this workshop, you can also receive my VCE biology notes for free via email, as well as email support if you have any further questions!
I look forward to seeing you there! 🙂
