Students who successfully complete senior secondary school in WA will be awarded the Western Australian Certificate of Education, or WACE.
To receive their WACE, students must study at least 20 units. Each year-long course counts for 2 units, and students are required to complete 10 units of Year 12 courses, 4 units of English, a pair of Year 12 units from List A (humanities subjects) and a pair of Year 12 units from List B (STEM subjects).
For further information, explore the WACE website here.
Fun fact: Western Australia, the state in which Perth is located, is huge! If it was a country, it would be one of the top 10 largest countries in the world.
