Hello! My name is Thomas Williams and I graduated from St Kevin’s College Toorak in 2020 with an ATAR of 98.50. Currently, I am studying a Bachelor of Arts followed by a Juris Doctor at the University of Melbourne and I am a recipient of the prestigious Melbourne Chancellor’s Scholarship.
I offer VCE tutoring for:
– English (48)
– French (46.69)
– Specialist Mathematics (43.59)
– Mathematical Methods (41.31)
– Global Politics (41.60)
I specialise in English and humanities-based subjects where I can both motivate students and ensure that their writing fulfils the specific criteria that lends itself to achieving the highest possible score on the examination. Given the difficulties associated with succeeding in English, I can provide valuable resources and tips for those struggling in both the Comparative and Language Analysis areas of the examination. Additionally, I can draw on my experience of achieving a score of 100% in the Text Response Section of the VCE English exam to guide students’ essays in the right direction. As such, I can offer an easy-to-follow methodology which allows students to improve their structure, sentence construction and general analytical repertoire as I seek to enable students to work hard and improve their writing.
Despite specialising in English, I am fluent in both written and spoken French and can provide students with valuable material to improve their proficiency in this field. Specifically, I can provide students with important phrases and techniques to improve the complexity of their writing, including special tricks regarding the difficult subjunctive mood. Having completed an exchange in France, I am a specialist in spoken French and achieved a score of 100% on the Year 12 French Oral Exam. As such, I can provide students with extensive resources which can be used for the General Conversation and Detailed Study Sections of the Examination.
I am flexible with my time schedule; we could discuss a time that is suitable for us both. I will do my utmost best to accommodate you to my schedule.
Ultimately as a tutor, I will be patient and compassionate to all students while ensuring I cater to the specific needs of students of varying abilities – knowing when to both challenge and support students. Additionally, I will ensure that every student is at ease with me as I seek to promote a comfortable learning environment. Lastly and needless to say, I will ensure that all students have fun in my classes as I firmly believe that enjoyment is a direct catalyst for succeeding in VCE and beyond.
