Hi, thank you for taking the time to view my profile.
I recently graduated as a teacher, exceeding all graduate standards. I also hold an honours degree in history, in which I achieved a perfect GPA of 7 out of 7. Additionally, I hold undergraduate degrees in arts and international studies.
My objective is to aid students in achieving their full potential, and allow them to attain the best possible results in their studies.
I am extremely passionate about teaching and learning in general, and particularly so in my subject areas (politics, history, English, and HASS).
I have taught students of differing abilities from middle to high school, and I always seek feedback from colleagues and students alike. This feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with students consistently rating me as excellent in all surveyed categories.
Here is what one teacher said of my teaching abilities:
“Thomas has taught a wide variety of students at Seaton [High School]. This has required him to tailor lessons to very different cohorts of students, and it is a challenge that he has risen to. He regularly seeks advice [from colleagues]… He has capably managed students working both individually and in groups… At all times he has shown himself to be keen to experiment with different strategies in an endeavour to maximise student engagement in subjects he is clearly fully engaged with himself. He has given instructions using both visual and verbal resources, and has demonstrated the patience to go through instructions slowly and carefully in order to ensure that students are fully engaged. He has also incorporated digital technologies to further improve student engagement. Thomas is a confident classroom teacher with a clear spoken voice and has maintained positive personal relationships with the students he has taught”.
As a teacher, I am also familiar with the requirements of the Australian Curriculum (AC) and the Australian Certificate of Education (SACE), as well as how to teach to the curriculum requirements.
I am available for sessions Monday-Friday, and may be contacted via email or telephone.
I live in the Walkley Heights area of Adelaide’s Northern suburbs, and I have a current drivers’ license meaning that I am able to come to you. I am also able to tutor in the CBD where we can meet at the University of Adelaide or a public library.
I hold a valid DCSI clearance to work with children, and have passed a police check. I also hold certificates in responding to abuse and neglect, and in the child protection curriculum.
Costs are just $50 per hour, with the first session at half price.
Please contact me with ANY questions or queries.
