Hi there (et bonjour aussi !), I’m Tara, an accomplished tutor in VCE English, Literature and French (written and conversational).
About me, I completed VCE in 2016 achieving an ATAR of 98.25 and receiving 5 raw scores of 41 or above. I received the dux of my Literature class as well as the Year 11 and 12 Literature awards with a 45 raw score as well as the second highest English score for my year level with 42 raw.
I completed VCE French in Year 11 (2015), receiving a 42 raw score and was accepted into high level university French during Year 12 (2016), receiving First Class Honours/High Distinction (H1) at the University of Melbourne, whilst completing my Year 12 studies. I also was an hors-catégorie (French speaking) finalist (oral and written) for the Berthe Mouchette Alliance Française competition in 2015 and aided my French teacher as an in-class tutor during Year 12 in 2016 after completion of VCE French the year prior.
Currently, I am studying as an undergraduate student in architecture and landscape architecture at the University of Melbourne (Bachelor of Design) as well as participating in extra language subjects including French, Italian and Spanish of which I have continued to receive High Distinctions.
Teaching methodology, I am passionate about providing personalised experiences and extending my love of literature and languages to my students. I believe that this comes through an intimate understanding of the problems a student experiences and enjoy helping students to overcome their issues whilst gaining a deeper understanding of their studies and what is required of them for successful VCE outcomes. I am familiar with essay writing (French and English), creative and comparative as well as passage analysis and am more than willing to read your text of study. I have a proven track record in attaining VCE results in both English and Literature elevating students from D’s to achieving their first ever A.
For some French students I understand that the oral exam can be the most daunting, and as such I also offer conversational classes to perfect your accent and pronunciation of those tricky words. These are conducted entirely in French, unless instruction in English is required.
