Hello! Thank you for taking the time to read my profile, welcome to LearnMate!
I am currently a student at the ANU studying Languages and International Relations. I speak fluent french, having completed the Brevet with a High Distinction and lived in France for three years. I am also in advanced Spanish at the ANU, receiving Distinctions and High Distinctions. I graduated from Narrabundah College in 2016 with an ATAR of 97.3 and an IB of 34. I received the Principal’s award three years in a row for my academic achievement across all subjects, however, languages and english are what I really enjoy teaching.
It is my belief that a knowledge of a foreign language opens so many doors. The benefits are limitless! Higher cognitive skills (memory, concentration, problem-solving), career and employment prospects in every field, cultural awareness, inclusion in our increasingly global economy and so much more. I am very passionate about the languages I teach. My goal is to provide my students with the guidance and support they need to excel at their chosen language but also to instil a passion of their own. Learning a new language is an exciting and highly satisfying experience that I intend to make as enjoyable as possible.
I have over three years of tutoring and teaching experience from primary schools to college students. I am an organised, friendly, empathetic and enthusiastic tutor with excellent communication skills.
I provide my students with assistance, advice and support with both written and oral assessment.
I have an extensive knowledge of the grammar, conjugation and sentence formation of the languages I teach and provide my students with comprehensive notes for the more efficient revision.
I adapt my lessons to fit my student’s learning style.
I provide my students with a multitude of practice exams and exercises and any further materials they may need to assist in their learning (including any foreign books or films they may require)
My support via email and phone will be available to them 7 days a week. Stress is the enemy of learning as it restricts all enjoyment. I will be available for any burning questions or reassurance they may need 🙂
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I have some flexibility with my uni schedule and will do my upmost to accommodate your needs; we’ll find a time that suits us both.
I tutor at any of the libraries in the City or Woden areas.
I charge $45 dollars per hour for one-on-one tutoring and groups of two for $35 per hour each, which I believe is reasonable for the guidance and resources I provide and includes the commute and commission fees.
I hold a valid Working With Vulnerable People’s licence and a Police check.
Contact me today and I will help you find success, personal development and joy in learning or improving your french, spanish or english skills!
