Hi, I’m Shawna! I’m currently entering the third-year of my Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences, majoring in Medical Sciences (The University of Western of Australia) where I have maintained a 7.0 GPA and WAM of 92.933, putting me on track to pursue my dream of medicine.
Graduating high school in 2017 (Shenton College), I obtained final scaled WACE scores of 90.29 in Human Biology ATAR, 91.02 in English ATAR, 91.93 in Ancient History ATAR, 81.31 in Mathematics Applications ATAR and 73.78 in Physical Education studies, as well as an ATAR of 98.4. As such, I offer high-quality tutoring in all of these subjects. My efforts in high school earnt me two State Awards: a Subject Certificate of Excellence for Ancient History, and a Certificate of Distinction. At university I have completed bridging subjects in Chemistry and Physics for the WACE equivalents, where I attained final grades of 95 and 92 respectively, and as such am equipped to tutor in these areas as well.
I take immense joy from my studies, rooted in my passion for my subject and the thrill of learning new things, motivating my own ongoing and rigorous work ethic. My aim as a tutor is to establish both an in-depth understanding of all aspects of the curriculum, but also to instil enjoyment for learning, and by doing so it is my goal to not only improve a test score but to inspire a lasting passion to learn and achieve, facilitating durable academic excellence.
To me, a successful lesson entails my students coming away feeling satisfied and confident that I have equipped them with all the skills and understanding necessary for them to excel academically. I am friendly, and easy-going, patient and confident, and by now have experience tutoring a variety of concepts to friends and classmates both in high school and university, I have guided numerous students to improved grades across a variety of subjects.
