About: Hi guys, thanks for checking out my profile. I am a VCE Maths Methods (41) and EAL (40) and Physics (38) tutor in the South Eastern Suburbs/CBD. In addition to the VCE subjects, I am also tutoring primary and secondary level, Math and Science. I will cater my teaching towards your goals and learning style.
For Maths Methods, I believe that practice is the key to perfection. After teaching the relatively simple concepts of the course to you, I will gradually increase the difficulty levels of the questions so that you can handle anything that sacs/exams throw a you. We will be doing questions from past exams and Cambridge checkpoints in addition to the textbook. During the year, I will help you to compile the questions that you had a hard time with so that you can include them in the bound reference for the exam.
For EAL, I will provide you with the guidance and tips needed to comprehend the textbooks and to pick out the difficult parts of language analysis. I will also provide you with the resources needed to do well in the newly introduced listening component. I will be marking your essays and providing new essay topics as a part of tutoring.
I take a similar approach to Maths Methods as with Physics. I will teach the basic concepts to you and assist you in the construction of the cheat sheet (allowed by VCAA) for the exams. You will need a very solid grasp of the basic concepts as you are required to describe them for sacs/exams. With these tools, practising a range of questions is imperative as the physics exam is known for having creative scenarios that throw students off.
I live in the Oakleigh area and I am willing to visit your home if you live in the surrounding suburbs. I am also available to tutor at public libraries close to Oakleigh and at the State library. There is no extra cost incurred for travelling.
I am contactable at any time during the week and I will also be providing support via email/phone if it is required.
I only charge $35 per hour for individual lessons and $25 per hour for group lessons. The first lesson is free of charge and I would dedicate it to getting to know a bit about yourself, going through the curriculum and identifying the parts that you have difficulties with.
