Hi, I'm Melina. I'm currently a university student at the University of Wollongong studying Creative Writing and Japanese. I also work for my university as an In2Uni mentor, where I mentor generally Year 11 and 12 students in their tertiary education and future plans. Through this job, I have discovered my passion for teaching, sharing my experience, and helping students. My Creative Writing degree lends itself to tutoring in English. Additionally, I studied English Advance in High School, which I graduated from in 2017. I have done several English courses during my time at uni, and am excellent at reading, writing, and interpreting and analysing text. Thanks to my mentoring job, as well as experience peer mentoring in High School, I have a high ability to communicate these skills to students, edit, and give feedback on essays and creative writing. I also study Japanese and have a high level of competency due to my experience of living in Japan for four months for a semester exchange program. My level of knowledge of vocabulary, kanji, and grammar structures, as well as key skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing enable me to tutor Japanese students at any High School level.
I am happy to tutor in around Cantebury-Bankstown, Sutherland Shire, South-West Sydney and around Wollongong.
I am available to tutor on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9 AM to 8 PM.
