About Mark

Hey, welcome to my profile, and thanks for taking an interest in what I have to offer! I am a physics and chemistry tutor, and I have a great passion for science in general.

About Me:

My name is Mark, and I enjoy eating snacks and reading fantasy novels. I recently graduated VCE in 2016 as the Dux of Heathdale Christian College with an ATAR of 99.15, and I want to do my best to help you fulfil your dreams in the demanding subjects of physics and chemistry.

At school, I got a study score of 48 in both physics and chemistry. Like I said, I have a strong passion for science, which is why I have continued studying it at Monash University. This passion ensures I am interested in my subject, and that I can provide the right depth of knowledge to all of my students. I aim to pass on as much of this passion as I can, because enjoying what you learn is a key part in achieving success.

Having only just completed VCE last year, I have a good understanding of the curriculum and what is required of students for their assessments and exams. I understand how difficult science subjects can be to master, and I will do my best to help students prepare for SACs and exams, including practical assessments and writing up their reports, which are a vital part of any science subject.

How I can help you:

Year 12 can be a terrifying experience. It’s my job to help you get through all of your SACs and other assessments, and to prepare you for your exams. I am always available to help via phone or email, and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to let me know.

A big part of learning is being fully engaged in your classes. I want to teach my students as well as I can by finding out what interests them, and involving them in my teaching as much as I can. I want the learning experience to be fun, but not at the exclusion of getting work done.

As a tutor, my main goal is to help my students really understand the concepts they are required to use so that they can easily adapt and take on any challenges that come their way, rather than mechanically memorising formulas and specific scenarios only to find themselves lost when they come across a new situation.

Cost, Location and Other Details:

I am always happy to support my students outside of class times. Any of my students can call me or email me at any time, and I will give them as much help as they need. Don’t hesitate to ask me any questions, I’m here to help, and no question is a dumb question.

I only charge $39 an hour for private tutoring, and I also offer group tutoring for $29 an hour for 2-4 students. If I have to travel for more than 20 minutes to reach you, I also charge a $10 travelling fee.For lessons, you’re welcome to come to me, or I can come to you. I live on campus at Monash University, so there are plenty of libraries and other quiet spaces available to work in, but I can come to tutor anywhere in the Clayton area, or anywhere easily reached by public transport.

I am available on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons, as well as all day Saturday. I will try my hardest to work according to your schedule.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through my entire profile! I hope you liked what you saw, and if you have any questions feel free to contact me. I look forward to helping you realise your potential in VCE!
