Hi! My name is Kate Rennick and I’ve been a primary school teacher at an International Baccalaureate school for the past nine years. During this time I’ve taught a range of students from Year 2 – Year 6 and led various teams as a year level coordinator. I am also passionate about sustainability and coordinated our student-led ‘Green Machine’. I am currently on maternity leave and am excited to support students with their learning in 2020.
What am I offering?
With the move to remote learning in Term 2, I would love to help with general work completion as well as specific point of need teaching in any area of the curriculum, particularly English and Mathematics. I have used both Google Docs and Seesaw as an online teaching, learning and collaboration platform and can support both parents and students in the use of this if required. My availability is flexible and suitable times can be arranged as needed.
How will I teach?
Online, using the Zoom platform. My one-to-one sessions can include assistance with task completion or teaching of specific skills and strategies if required. If specific skills and strategies are needing particular attention, then email communication with the parent would be required so that I can plan lessons effectively. I look forward to helping support you with your learning.
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
For assistance with weekly task completion as set by the school, my fee is $60 per hour.
If point of need, specific skills and strategies are being taught (for example: persuasive writing techniques, writing structure and sequencing, particular reading skills, a mathematical concept etc.) then my fee is $70 an hour, taking into account time for assessment, lesson planning and feedback.
Kate is a dedicated, highly experienced teacher and tutor who has demonstrated wisdom, compassion, creativity and attention to detail when teaching my 8 yo daughter remotely. She has gone far and beyond my expectations. She’s also wonderful to work with – communicative, responsive and flexible. She comes with our highest recommendations!
From my daughter: “I like how she’s so enthusiastic!”
Kate first session with Elise was a hit. I could tell straight away Elise was happy to work with Kate. I like Kates style, she has a calming voice and I could tell straight away she knew what she was doing. I know Elise is in great hands.
Kate has been an amazing tutor and has helped our daughter catch up on maths and prepare for the year ahead. Kate is patient, professional and has a variety of methods which have helped our daughter immensely.
The best, kindest and most helpful tutor. She achieves exactly what is promised and more. My daughter is now supremely confident with math!
