Hi there, I’m Josh and thanks for taking the time to look at my profile.
I achieved a study score of 45.79 in mathematical methods and 45.11 in specialist maths and it is this knowledge and the processes involved in solving these problems that I would like to pass on to other students. My top priority is to ensure students understand why certain steps are taken to solve problems but to also understand the intuition behind it through a studious yet enjoyable method of teaching students.
I have a great passion for mathematics and that is further bolstered by my ability and it has helped shape where my university course is taking me. It has led me to select to specialise in Mechatronics with a major in Physics and a minor in Maths. Often, I have been told that when speaking of subjects that interest me I become engaging and energetic and it is by utilizing this I can help fuel a student’s mathematical ability.
While often mathematics is thought to be a dry subject, in a sense that it is mainly just problem solving and question sets, my goal is to make those problem sets more engaging and to help find some passion in the subject.
I am familiar with the current curriculum of Units 1 / 2 and Units 3 /4 for mathematical methods and specialist maths and am skilled in all vital areas of the course.
I offer phone and email support 7 days a week, so If any questions should arise throughout the week, I can offer you help as needed. I can also provide notes as needed to complement the tuition if required.
I live in the Deepdene area, and depending on your location can arrange, either in person or online tutoring sessions, which ever is preferred.
During the university period I am available to tutor at the following times:
- Monday after 6pm
- Tuesday after 4pm
- Wednesday after 7pm
- Thursday after 6pm
- Friday after 3pm
- Saturday all day

*times may vary depending on university commitments, don’t be afraid to ask about other availabilities!
I hold a valid working with children check.
I charge $40 per hour of tutoring, and when applicable a $10 travel fee if the commute is longer than 30 minutes.
