I’m Hamish and I graduated as dux from Carey Baptist Grammar school in 2019 with the maximum score of 45 points on my IB diploma (99.95 ATAR), with particularly strong marks in Chemistry HL, Literature HL, and French B HL (EE) . I’m currently studying science at the University of Melbourne and would love to help others work towards their goals, whatever they may be.
Personally, I relished the opportunity high school gave me to discover things I enjoyed; I dedicated time to the performing arts, sport and community service throughout my final years of secondary education as well as pursuing academia. My maintained engagement in this wide variety of activities allowed me to develop the skills needed to effectively communicate with a variety of people and articulate a range of ideas in multitudinous situations. I also developed a profound passion for all of my IB subjects whilst I studied them, and, therefore, I really believe that I can tutor you with an ardent commitment and a personal flare.
I have experience tutoring online and in-person for all of these subjects already and have enjoyed employing a tailored approach to each student to encourage their personal engagement in a subject. I’m also happy to discuss organisational and practical skills like exam technique – things that were integral in completing my diploma.
I’m really keen to share some of my acquired knowledge and skills and to help students get as much as I did out of high school. I’m thoroughly passioned by both the process and outcomes of learning and firmly believe I can encourage this same energy in anyone whom I may be tutoring.
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I am available most weeknights and weekends online and have experience in tutoring via zoom or similar programs. Ordinarily, I’m available for in person tutoring weeknights around the east Camberwell area or at the state library. My regular fee is $50.
