Hey guys! My name is David and I have been attending The University of Melbourne since my VCE graduation (2013), in which I achieved an ATAR of 97.15.
As a tutor, it is my sole goal to provide students with the skills, advice and knowledge, that give them a one-up on the profound majority of students in the state.
About Me & Qualifications
I achieved a study score of 47 in VCE English (Honours at Haileybury College), and desire to share the passion and experience I gained from some incredible VCE teachers, with other students. With my editorial and lecturing experience, I prioritise an energetic, intelligent, unique and tailored approach to help students master the curriculum.
My success in English and other Humanities subjects highlight my ability to analyse and convey key concepts in a way that is easy to grasp and relatable. Many students have commented that the advice I provide has given them a greater understanding of VCE English, which in many cases has been better and more understanding than their own teachers.
In the end, success in VCE English isn’t determined based on pure skill and knowledge, rather, a student’s ability to master the system of VCE grading, and what assessors expect from the ‘cream of the crop’ students.
It has been a while since I graduated from VCE (2013), but in this time, I have continued to encounter students’ misperception of the course, and attempted to guide them in whatever way I can. Indeed, were it not for some phenomenal teachers guiding me, I would not have succeeded in the way that I did.
I completely understand the pressure to succeed, and the difficulty in managing multiple VCE Subjects, so I will provide every student with a personal approach that suits them best. Students not yet experiencing VCE will also be catered to and ensured a fully invested approach which prepares them for their future.
I am more than happy to tutor Students from years 7-12. And depending on the year level or the School’s independent curriculum, I am also available to tutor General History, History: Revolutions (SS: 44), Legal Studies (SS: 42), International Politics, and Global Politics (SS: 42).
