Hi! Thanks for taking the time to visit my profile!
My name is Clayton, and I recently completed my VCE studies at Haileybury College in 2015, attaining scores of 47, 45 and 43 in Biology 3&4, Chemistry 3&4, and Mathematical Methods 3&4 respectively and an ATAR of 97.95.
Currently, I am undertaking a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Melbourne. Within this, I am studying Calculus, Chemistry and Biology university-level subjects.
It is my aspiration to relay what I have learned in and beyond my studies of VCE Biology, Chemistry and Methods to current students who may benefit from this. It is my top priority, as a tutor, to ensure my students grasp all concepts of the VCE curriculum by nurturing their interests in subject matter and guiding them past their academic difficulties.
APPROACH TO TUTORING
I would describe myself to be an upfront, dedicated and keen tutor of all VCE content; determined in every situation to help every student develop an in-depth understanding of the subject they are undertaking. In my experience, students who discover some form of passion for learning truly achieve the academic heights of which they are capable. Incorporating this into my teaching as my underlying philosophy, I help students seek out their interests in their VCE subjects and consequent drive to learn what is necessary for assessment. Once I can help them find this, I can impart the necessary knowledge to achieve top-notch subject scores knowing that the student is just as motivated as I am to accomplish success.
My students have constant access to my support over email and phone even outside of lesson time so, no matter our arranged time, they can always feel prepared for any impending assessment.
I have extensive tutoring experience: both formal (with a company, like LearnMate tutoring) and informal (with self-sought out local students). I also make it a priority to update my own knowledge of relevant concepts and to be up to-date with the current VCE course design.
LOCATION, AVAILABILITY, AND COSTS
I live in the Flemington area (Travancore) and am available to travel to you if you are nearby. I also frequent Parkville and the CBD, and so am able to alternatively tutor at the state library or another (close by) public library in Melbourne.
I am available afternoon/evenings all week with the exception of Mondays and Wednesdays. Of course, I will do my utmost to accommodate you into my schedule.
I charge only $45 per hour for private tutoring and $30 for group tutoring for all of my subjects listed.
I am very much hopeful for the opportunity to speak with you and discuss what services I can offer to you as a tutor!
Clayton highlights areas in which VCAA will definitely be testing and may try to trick students. He is also very good at articulating his point.
