My name is Bryanna. I graduated from James Fallon High School, Albury, NSW in 2014 I was accepted into a Double Degree at Australian National University, where I studied both a Bachelor of Arts- History Major, Ancient History Minor, English Minor and a Bachelor of Asian Studies- Japanese Language Major, Asian studies/History minors. I have since completed both degrees and have begun tutoring this year. My favourite subjects to learn and teach are History and English subjects, and I have a thorough knowledge of content on major historical developments/ literature trends which are covered in high school curriculum- World War 1, World War 2- particular interest on pacific region and Japan, Ancient Greece (Athenians), Ancient Rome (including Pompeii and Herculaneum), Russian Revolution, Romanticism, Modernism, Victorianism, Shakespeare, Dickens, Mary Shelley, etc. More than willing to reread curriculum books, share copies with students etc. however, if help needed on major English or History paper, some warning ahead of time is appreciated so that I can look over some of the books again (i.e. Herodotus and Thucydides are very long texts). I also enjoy teaching Visual Arts theory, and Biology as high school subjects although I did not study them at university, I received high marks in both during highschool and retain many of the resources- textbooks etc. that I used during that time and am willing to share with students.
For parents with primary school students. I am more than capable of teaching a wide array of subjects and the fees are reduced because the workload is generally easier than year 11 and 12 content. I have experience working with children at pre-school as young as 4, and will be tutoring at Gungahlin Library in the afternoons later this year if you would like to see how I operate with younger children. I also have a valid working with vulnerable persons check.
I am a very thorough person, and also very patient with learners as long as they put the effort in. It is very rewarding sharing with students about subjects I am interested in and engaging them in the process of learning. If there is anything I don’t know I will definitely research it and get back to the students, as tutors it is important to keep learning and growing ourselves which I intend to do myself in beginning my Masters of Education in 2020. I am always contactable via phone or email for any inquiries, last minute student crises etc.
