About Ashlee

ABOUT ME!

Hola amigo!

Firstly thank you for reading over my profile!

My name is Ashlee and I would love the opportunity to assist you with your Spanish studies.

A little about my background:

I graduated from high school back in 2009 and went straight to Flinders University where I obtained a Bachelor of Business, specialising in International Business and Marketing in 2012.

After completing this, I took a gap year in which I travelled around Central and South America for over 6 months, falling in love with the culture and language.

When I returned to Australia in 2015, I enrolled in a Bachelor of Languages, achieving High Distinctions for all subjects in Spanish and Applied Linguistics, and continued with my academic studies by undertaking a Masters in Language Studies in 2019, again specialising in Spanish and Applied Linguistics. I was also given the opportunity to participate in an overseas exchange where I studied in Granada, Spain.

Throughout my time at University I ran the Flinders Spanish Club from 2018 to 2020, acted as a Student Representative for Postgraduate Studies and Languages in 2020, engaged with the local Spanish-speaking community of Adelaide by participating in a weekly radio program ‘Siempre Lunes’ in 2019, and achieved the Chancellors Letter of Commendation in 2019 and 2020 for my high academic results.

While at Flinders University, I chose to write my Master’s thesis in Spanish to push myself in the hopes of improving my Spanish writing. I found that through this process I was able to develop a higher level of professional language skills as well as everyday communication skills.

In 2021, I will be commencing a Graduate Diploma in Migration Law, so that eventually I can become a registered Migration Agent and assist those emigrating to Australia.

As you can tell, I have a great passion for the Spanish language and culture, and my overall goal is to share my knowledge and help others achieve their goals and become proficient in Spanish.

I understand that studying a foreign language can be a challenge at times, and I am a strong believer that communication is the key to success.

Likewise, I know that students perform better when they are interested in their studies, therefore my aim is to provide engaging support and resources that will help with all areas of language study.

As my profile shows, I have an extensive background in academic study and student support roles which I believe gives me the attributes to be a great tutor.

I can provide students with communication practice (speaking, writing, listening) and offer additional support through comprehensive notes, revision guides, and practice material for tests and exams.

MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!

I currently offer on-line tutoring via the Zoom application, and charge an hourly rate of $40 for individual lessons, or $30 per student for group lessons (minimum of 3 students).

I also offer support via phone and email 7 days a week.

My timetable is flexible, however my general availability for on-line lessons is as follows:

Monday to Thursday: 12pm – 6pm

Once again, thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

I look forward to hearing from you.
