Tutor Tip #1: What’s your student’s definition of success?

Hey guys!

As part of my continual process to create amazing tutors and for you to all feel as though you’re improving, every week I’ll be posting tutor tips surrounding how you can improve etc.

To kick off this announcement, I’d like to get you to ask your current students (if you already haven’t) their definition of success in the subject.

What’s the student’s definition of success?

Once you do this, you’ll then be able to plan your lessons accordingly. For example, some students may wish to attain a study score of 45 and have the work ethic to do so. Therefore, you’ll know that you’ll probably need to provide them with a lot of work for them to complete. In contrast, you may have a student who only needs 30 for their course at university, so ‘why bother working hard’ they may think.

As a tutor, you need to UNDERSTAND your student’s needs. That’s it really. Understand exactly what it is they want from you so you can plan your lessons around this goal!

I hope that helps 🙂
