LearnMate Mission & Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia

“The Ronald McDonald Learning Program is a national program of Ronald McDonald House Charities helping children with serious illness catch up on their missed education following lengthy hospital stays and absence from school.”

Part of our bigger mission here at LearnMate is ensuring that everyone can get access to education if they need it. LearnMate and Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia have partnered together to support young people who are seriously ill in a charitable capacity. We call this program LearnMate Mission.

What is LearnMate Mission?

Every year, thousands of children around Australia are treated for serious illnesses such as cancer, heart disease and cystic fibrosis. The impact of hospitalisation, medications and lengthy recovery means that many children fall behind in their education and never reach their full potential.

The Ronald McDonald Learning Program is a national program run by Ronald McDonald House Charities to assist seriously ill children catch up on their learning. It is often the first step towards normalcy for seriously ill children and their families and sends a clear message that we believe in their future.

Together with the Ronald McDonald Learning Program, LearnMate allows our tutors to signup to the program and offer their services in a charitable and philanthropic capacity.

So how does it work?

Tutors who are interested in offering their time to those in need for free sign up to the program through our site. From there they offer their tutoring services to students within the Ronald McDonald Learning Program. Currently we have over 50 tutors who are part of this program and together they are making a major difference in the lives of students with serious illness.

If you are a tutor interested in joining, please do so here.

“Together we can make a major difference in the lives of seriously ill children!”
