About me:

I completed my VCE studies at Glen Waverley Secondary College (GWSC) in 2015, graduating with an ATAR of 99.70. I achieved a raw study score of 48 in Biology, 47 in Chemistry and 49 in Methods. I’ve also been Dux of GWSC for three years. I am currently studying Medicine at Monash University.

Tutoring Approach:

I am extremely passionate about teaching Biology and Chemistry. I understand how students may find these content-heavy subjects difficult to understand or even dull and boring. I aim to bring enthusiasm and energy to tutoring lessons to help my students find a passion for their subjects. I want my students to feel engaged with the subject and avoid simply just “rote-learning.” Especially with Biology and Chemistry, it is difficult to perform well by only memorising content and having a superficial understanding. My theory is that with a genuine interest and a profound understanding, students will be driven to achieve their best scores.

I have a thorough understanding of the current curriculum for Units 3/4 Biology and Chemistry, and have an array of skills to teach, including:

• SAC and exam preparation
• Insight into the latest trends for exam questions
• Perfecting short answer responses
• Teaching scientific models, theories and concepts using a variety of resources (visual aids, personal diagrams, videos, prior high school material)
• Tips and tricks to when it comes to performing in the exam/SAC

Tutoring Services:

If you are willing to hire me as a tutor, you will have FREE access my personalised notes (with helpful diagrams and visual aids), as well as practise questions and solutions. I also offer phone and email support 7 days a week, especially for those burning, last minute questions you may have before SACs and exams. I understand how sometimes teachers are not available 24/7 and even Google cannot provide the right answers. Hence, I always make sure I am available for my students.

Location, Availability & Costs:

I live in the Wantirna South area and am willing to drive to you, if you live in the nearby suburbs (15km radius). I am also able to have lessons at public libraries or Monash University Clayton campus. I hold a vaild Working with Children’s Check and Victorian Driver’s Licence.

I am available from 10am-6pm on weekends, however, lesson times may be negotiated for during the week. I will do my utmost to accommodate you into my schedule.

I only charge $37 per hour for private tutoring, and $32 per hour for group tutoring (2-4 students is ideal). I charge a $10 travel fee if travel time to your place exceeds 20 minutes.
