Whilst growing up, I never really enjoyed going to class as I did not like my subjects. It took me until middle school to find my passion for both maths and science because of the inspiring and outstanding teachers that I had. This encouraged me to achieve a 50 in further mathematics, 41 (51.20 scaled) in specialist mathematics, 44 (48.19 scaled) in mathematical methods, 43 (44.95 scaled) in physics and 40 (43.60 scaled) in chemistry. This resulted in an ATAR of 99.20 and motivated me to study a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne. I am looking to tutor any year level in the subjects of maths and physics (or general science for younger years).
Due to my previous experiences throughout school, I realise that a teacher or tutor can be so much more than just someone who feeds a student content, but someone who can unlock a students potential by showing them how to enjoy their subjects, which always boosts a student’s results. Having almost a year of private tutoring experience and having just completed year 12, I am very familiar with the course and the techniques and tricks to achieve excellence in your desired subject, from the content to general study skills.
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I tutor at any libraries in the city, especially ones close to the University of Melbourne, Parkville. I am also happy to travel anywhere that is easily accessed by a train or tram from the city.
I charge $55 per hour, groups are negotiable.
I hold a valid Working with Children’s Check.
Thank you for reading my profile and I hope you choose me to show you the keys to succeed in high school.
Tom has the ability to build a strong rapport with William. He is able to tune in and motivate him to study. He has very good communication and listening skills and a strong grasp of the subject he is tutoring William.
