Hey there! I’m Sapthaki, thanks for stopping by my profile.
In 2015, I obtained raw study scores of 48 in VCE English and 44 in VCE Biology, graduating from Pascoe Vale Girls’ College with an ATAR of 98.75. Throughout my time in VCE, I grew to love and enjoy these subjects and wish to pass on all the things I learned to current Year 11 and Year 12 students. At the moment, I am studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at The University of Melbourne, where I am constantly surrounded by all things science, whilst having the fortune of being able to explore my interests in Arts subjects. I have been tutoring VCE Biology for over a year, and also have experience tutoring VCE English.
My circumstances and experience in secondary school lead me to realise that anybody can excel in VCE, equipped with the right mindset, resources and dedication. For this reason, I wish to not only teach my students, but to prompt them into being interested and taking pride in, their studies. I believe that this is so important in seeing results.
Of course, the number one focus will be on fully understanding the curriculum. As a tutor, I aim to help my students reach their full academic potential and enjoy themselves while doing so.
I am familiar with the current curriculum for Units 1/2 and 3/4 in VCE English and VCE Biology. However, I can also tutor students in earlier years in Science, Maths or English. As a tutor, I have the right skillset to help you in the following areas:
- Marking and providing feedback for essays
- SAC Preparation
- How to handle past exam questions
- Time management in exams
- Tricks and shortcuts in doing certain problems or understanding concepts
- Identifying when to apply specific knowledge
I will provide resources such as notes for each section of the study design, practice exam questions and anything else that will push you to do your best in these subjects.
Furthermore, I can offer phone and email support 7 days a week, in the emergency that you require assistance in solving a specific question, getting ideas or just need some general advice. In such cases, I will be more than willing to help.
Location and Availability;
I am based in the Northern suburbs (Craigieburn) and can tutor at any of the local or city libraries, or if preferred, I can come to you or you to me (although I may have to charge an extra $10 if driving time is significant). I am available mostly on weekends and some weekdays, the specifics of which can be discussed later, where I will try my best to accommodate to your schedule! I also hold a valid Working with Children’s Check and a Driver’s License.
I only charge $40 per hour for VCE Biology and $50 per hour for VCE English.
Feel free to contact me today.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and hopefully, we can work together in achieving the best VCE results!
Sapthaki is very supportive, helpful, and friendly.
Sapthaki is indeed a phenomenal tutor – not only does she provide key resources fundamental to a deeper comprehension of VCE English, she is also able to clearly explain and assist me in understanding what I need to do to succeed in English in all aspects – orals, language analyses, text responses and comparative essays. Her enthusiasm for the subject is unparalleled, and I would recommend her to anyone who thinks they don’t have the potential to do well in English, as my marks definitely improved after a few sessions with her.
