After TCE and a first degree at Tas Uni, I went to Europe, where I spent 25 years working as a freelance translator, interpreter and editor as well as being on the adjunct faculty at two German universities and a career/study orientation programme for recent high school graduates. I have worked one-on-one with several people with Asperger's Syndrome and also taught a special university orientation course for refugees. During this period I also completed a second degree in political science and a Masters in Literature. I have recently returned to Australia to complete my PhD in Political History and Literature before commencing work as a high school teacher in 2023.
