Hey there and thanks visiting my profile, my name is Nick and I’m a LearnMate tutor for biology, chemistry and 2U Maths.
HSC can be a stressful and gruelling process and everyone needs some help to get through certain topics or to push themselves a little bit more to get the mark that they want and deserve, I am here to help you do that! Fun and patient I only want to see you do the best you can. For the HSC preparation is crucial to achieving high marks but equally important is staying on top of stress and you having confidence in yourself. Remember, whether you can or can’t you are right!
A bit about myself
I completed the HSC in 2007 and attained an ATAR (UAI back then) of 90.25. I received a Band 6 in Biology (91), and Band 5 in both Chemistry (89) and 2U Maths (87).
I have a very strong understanding of all aspects of the Preliminary and HSC Biology, Chemistry and 2U Maths syllabus and have continued my biology, chemistry and maths studies into University. I have obtained a Bachelor of Science at the University of Sydney with First Class Honours in Cell Pathology. And currently I am finishing my Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience.
As a tutor I hope to help you better understand the content of the syllabus and have confidence to answer any question that you will see in your exams and assignments. Being able to recognise what exactly the question is asking and how examiners wish for you to respond is an invaluable and crucial exam time saving and stress reducing skill. I firmly believe I can help you improve on this.
I have a solid understanding of the core units, as well as the optional units for Biology and Chemistry and the questions asked for 2U Maths. I can work with you to develop the skills and strategies necessary to reach your goal in HSC whatever it may be.
