I’m Nava. I come from Adelaide originally, but I have moved to Brisbane for uni!
I graduated high school in 2018, with an ATAR of 94.5. I completed the IB Diploma Programme and studied HL English, History and Biology and SL German, Chemistry and Maths. In addition to this, I completed the music subjects “solo performance” and “ensemble performance”.
After the completion of High School, I was accepted into a Bachelor of Law and Legal Practice at Flinders University (South Australia), a Bachelor of Arts (honours) at Melbourne University (Victoria), a Bachelor of Music Theatre at Adelaide University, Elder Conservatorium (South Australia) and a Bachelor of Musical Theatre at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University (Queensland). I chose to study Musical Theatre at the Queensland Conservatorium, and have deferred my law degree for now.
I tutor from Prep to Year 12 in:
English (all levels and courses), IB History (SL and HL), IB Biology (SL and HL), IB German (SL and Ab. Initio), IB TOK and EE as well as Music (up to year 10 level, all courses), Drama (all levels and courses), Religion (all levels and courses), Essay Writing and Exam Preparation.
My grades for these subjects were: IB English (HL) – 6, IB History (HL) – 5, IB Biology (HL) – 6, IB German (SL) – 6, SACE (South Australian Certificate of Education) Solo Performance (A), SACE Ensemble Performance (A). I have also received high distinctions (over 90%) in all of my academic subjects at university; Music Theory, History of Western Performance, Acting, and Voice (speech).
As an IB graduate, I have a broad and deep understanding of a wide variety of subject areas, as much of the content studied (especially higher level) is at university standard. Additionally, studying IB has given me a solid appreciation of the importance of maintaining good study habits, successful essay-writing techniques, and exam revision techniques. As a performer, I also have significant experience in subjects such as drama and music. I not only study these subjects at university but have toured both Japan and America, performing in places such as Disneyland and Universal Studios.
I believe that I have a lot to offer as a tutor. I have a strong grasp on all of the topics I tutor and, more importantly, I feel that the value of tutoring goes beyond merely teaching content. Being a tutor, to me, means instilling confidence in my students so that they feel they are equipped with the tools to face any challenge that may come their way. I am energetic and bubbly and strive to create a safe, comfortable and friendly environment for my students to thrive.
I look forward to hearing from you.
