Hello, I’m Lydia. I’m currently a second year student at UNSW studying computer science. I am looking to teach students mathematics as I really like the logical and challenging aspect of the subject. Scoring a high mark of 94 for HSC advanced mathematics and studying a relevant degree in university, I am confident to know the content throughly from primary school up to year 11.
As a student approaches the HSC, maths often becomes the most time consuming subject. Because so much time is required, it is difficult to achieve high marks if a student has no interest in the subject. So I hope to make mathematics as interesting and enjoyable as possible to the student, so hopefully they could retain a positive view on the subject throughout their academic career to achieve their best results.
For higher years, I aim to explain the reasoning behind the concept as well as the methods. It is easier to work out answers that way, and I think a big part of what makes mathematics enjoyable later on is seeing how all the parts build on to and relate to each other.
