Hi! My name is Liesl and I am a registered Primary Teacher living in South Australia. I have taught as a classroom teacher for 6 years across Victoria and the Northern Territory. I had taken this year off to travel but due to CoViD restrictions, I am unable to. I am excited to continue teaching in a different capacity. I am happy to tutor in person and also online. I have worked as a tutor in the past whilst I was studying my teaching degree at university. Once teaching, I helped run a reading intervention group after school for students with English as a second language. I also tutored students who were struggling with reading in my class before school.
I thoroughly enjoy working one-on-one with students and also in small groups. I love personalising learning and ensuring content is linked with students’ interests. I am passionate about making learning hands-on and purposeful. I am excited to tutor because I love to help struggling students succeed and achieving students excel. I am a positive and enthusiastic teacher who loves to encourage and see children reach their full potential. I care about academic development but also emotional well-being and like to ensure my students feel comfortable and enjoy what they learn.
Most of my experience has been with students from Prep-Year 2 but I have taught all year levels in Primary School. I have had a lot of experience teaching students with Special Needs. I have taught students with Autism, Down-Syndrome and Global Development Delay. I can tutor:
- Jolly Phonics
- Health & Physical Education
