Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to learn more about me!
Little things about me
I’m Khue from North Melbourne. I’ve done a variety of different jobs which I really like since I was in year 10 including tutoring and playing solo piano. After I graduated VCE in 2015 with an Academic Excellence Award, I took a semi-gap year to go travelling and was lucky to do internship at 2 different companies, one of them was being part of a PR team for Samsung, Herbalife and Unilever. All these experiences make me realize that as long as you are passionate and dedicated to your work, reaching the ambitious goals is nowhere near impossible. This is the attitude I want to share with my students. As I’m incredibly enthusiastic in helping others maximize their potential, I can’t wait to be not only your Maths tutor but also one of your friends in life!
My education and tutoring approach
I’m currently studying Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Accounting and Finance) at The University of Melbourne with an undergraduate scholarship that is only given to 5 students per year. I completed VCE in 2015 with a study score of 48.96 (38 raw) in Specialist and 46.09 (41 raw) in Methods.
Being a School Captain in year 12 trained me to be a more responsible and amiable person who could share the feelings and helped my peers whenever I could. Assisting them with Maths homework was one of my hobbies! I was trained to explain in words or write up solutions in the most simplistic way for them to understand. I really enjoyed that and promised to myself to be a VCE Maths tutor next year. Therefore, I’m really familiar with the content, revision strategies and explanation for all the relevant topics. As your tutor, I’ll surely provide you with numerous exam-like questions, ways to produce a decent logbook and of course, some tricks to solve the problems quicker including how to maximize the use of your calculator!
Indeed, Maths is a very dry subject with only numbers and equations but if you can understand, find the fun part and be devoted to it, Maths is actually the best one to help you be a more logical person and to be more specific, gain a higher ATAR! I’m definitely can help you with it as I did to many of my students!
Availability, location and charge
I’m free on weeknights and all day on Saturdays and Sundays. I’m based in Flemington and happy to move around within 15 minutes. Otherwise, we can meet at the State Library in CBD or arrange the place and time that will suit both of us.
I charge $47/hour per one-on-one private tutoring and only 32/hour per person if you’d like to have a group tutoring with your friends.
Should you have any queries outside class time, I’m more than happy to answer via email or phone.
