University of Melbourne Masters of Teaching (Secondary) Candidate. Completed penultimate year of study in November 2020.
I was educated at Ruyton Girls’ School in Melbourne’s inner-east and graduated from VCE in 2015, with an ATAR of 91.25.
Since graduating, I have explored my options with teaching. I studied a Bachelor of Arts at the University in Melbourne, graduating in 2015 with majors in History and International Politics. Over the last 5 years, I have worked as a sports coach at an all-girls school in Melbourne and as a teaching assistant at a co-educational boarding school in West Sussex, England.
During my degree, I have undertaken placement at one of Melbourne’s largest and high-performing government secondary schools, including during remote learning arrangements due to COVID-19. My specialist areas are History and the broad area of the Humanities. My training allows me to teach students how to approach study designs or curriculum, content knowledge, skill acquisition and approaching tests, SACs and exams. I understand the stresses that 2020 has brought upon students, given that I was able to see and respond to this first-hand on my placement. My goal is to help students build their confidence within their studies and differentiate their needs appropriately.
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I am based in Hawthorn, however due to COVID-19 restrictions, I’d prefer to tutor online. I have experience preparing and presenting online lessons to high school students.
I charge $50 per session, due to my progressing qualification and that I would be able to provide more meaningful lessons using strategies that have been learnt under the guidance of some of Australia’s leading academics in secondary education. This price can be negotiated in special circumstances and the opportunity to work in groups is available.
I am available all weekdays after school until 7pm, except for Wednesday (5pm) and Friday (6pm).
