Hi! I'm Kate, a Primary School, Years 7 - 8 Maths, Years 7 - 10: English, Science, IB: English Literature SL/HL, Economics SL/HL and Biology SL Tutor (99.95). I hope that I can encourage and inspire a love for English in future students.

ABOUT ME
I graduated from the IB program in 2018 with a score of 45/45 (ATAR equivalent: 99.95). My favourite subject was English Lit, and I chose to do my 4,000 word extended essay in English A Literature (score: A).
I also offer tutoring for IB Bio SL. In the beginning, I found this subject challenging and less enjoyable. However, by Year 12 I had really come to love Bio and found new ways to learn and study effectively in this subject. I am now studying a Bachelor of Biomedicine at the University of Melbourne on a Chancellor’s scholarship.
I hope that I can encourage and inspire a love for English & Bio in future students. I achieved high 7s for all components of these subjects, including 24/24 for my Bio IA. I have experience in tutoring for these 3 subjects and hope to continue supporting students to achieve their academic goals.
During the course of 2019, I worked at an independent school in England. Every day I would spend approx. 3-4 hours in the primary school, particularly with the priority reading and maths children. This consisted of 1 to 1 sessions working on their skills. I found this aspect of my job particularly rewarding, especially when I was able to see the progress my students made in a year.
LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY
Due to Covid-19 I am currently conducting all lessons over Learnmate’s online learning platform. The transition to online tutoring was very smooth and I have found that I am still able to engage with my students effectively. My current rate is $50/h.
