Hi! My name is Jeff and I achieved a score of 41/45 (atar 98.80) in my IB diploma.
Passionate about everything to do with the health sciences, I am currently a student at Melbourne University pursuing a degree in Immunology.
Having done tertiary studies in various life sciences subjects, including Biochemistry, Genetics, Microbiology and Immunology, and Neuroscience, I am equipped with all the knowledge an IB graduate should possess, plus that extra bit of insight into the biological world gained through university.
I am very easy-going, hardworking, patient, and love to be challenged with questions that make me think. Growing up as a rather shy and quiet kid, I understand it can be intimidating and frightening during one-on-one tutorial sessions, so I try to be as gentle as possible with my style, providing as much space and time as needed for trust to build.
I understand it can be difficult for students to find meaning and relevance in their studies when so much content is being taught to them. This is why I like to provide my students with a sense of the “why” when explaining biological concepts. My goal as a tutor is to help my students become experts in Biology, get top grades, and hopefully come out of the program feeling inspired and motivated.
AVAILABILITY, COSTS, LOCATION
I charge an hourly rate of $35 and am available to teach IB Biology (SL/HL) and pre-IB Biology face-to-face on weekdays from 11am to 6pm, and on weekends from 1pm to 6pm, but I’m happy to arrange for a session outside of these times. I live close to the University of Melbourne and would prefer to teach there or at the State Library.
I offer email support seven days a week outside of my tutoring hours, so please feel free to contact me to discuss any further details or send me an enquiry and I will get back to you as fast as I can.
I hold a valid Working with Children Check.
