My tutoring experience begins in Middle School when I would frequently help my classmates with difficult maths problems and explain complex concepts. The demand for my guidance increased during the final years of High School, as more and more classmates asked for my feedback for their written work, as well as for clarification in their understanding of mathematical concepts. Through these experiences, I discovered my passion for teaching, which, combined with my love of learning, invigorated me to pick up a handful of students in younger year levels and begin my tutoring career.
My goal is to create engaging and structured sessions tailored to your specific needs, as I believe that everyone has the capacity to succeed when guided on the right path.
I finished my VCE studies not long ago, and truly understand how intense it was for me before the exam. My teaching method will be slightly different from the other tutors as I will be focusing on how to approach a question and tackle some common problems that my peers and I have encountered through out our VCE studies; Instead of focusing “too much” on the “unnecessary content” and “general knowledge” in the study design. Our main focus right here is “how to tackle exam questions”. If students are willing to follow my teaching methodology, I can guarantee that they will be fully prepared and acquire the “stamina” to encounter all sorts of different exams and would be advantaged in the sense that they will know some exam tricks that not many other students would know.
To me, the most important thing as a tutor is to listen to what my students have to say, and guide them along the way; instead of forcefully stopping them halfway when they are trying to speak. As a teenager myself, I acknowledge how embarrassed it is to ask someone who is older a seemingly simple question, as it makes me feel ‘stupid’. I have been through all of that and I am here to provide my support to my fellow students and I always perceive my students as a learning partner instead of the strict student/teacher relationship.
