Hi! Thanks for considering me as an IB tutor.
- I completed International Baccalaureate at Trinity Grammar School, Summer Hill- (2016).
- I am currently in my first year studying a Bachelor degree in Architectural Studies at the University of New South Wales.
ABOUT ME AND MY SERVICES
I recently completed the IB Diploma and have a strong grasp in the new syllabi alterations. During the two years, I felt overwhelmed when it came to understanding and applying content, hence I can relate to similar sufferings. I hope that under my tutelage this will become more relaxing to ultimately benefit the student. I also understand the stress that is associated with the internal assessments and can therefore assist over the period of writing and submitting drafts. I received high marks on my internal assessments across my subjects. Some of these include, Business and Management HL (22/25), Economics SL (42/45) and Mandarin B SL (27/30- Oral, 23/25- Written Assignment). I also achieved high overall grades in Business and Management HL, Economics SL, Mathematical Studies SL and Chinese B SL. I also received a grade A (36/36) for my Extended Essay on English.
Some noticeable marks achieved include, (grade shown after comma)
English HL Paper 2 (21/25, 7)
Chinese B SL Paper 1 (40/40, 7), Paper 2 (22/25, 7)
Mathematical Studies Paper 1 (83/90, 7), Paper 2 (81/90, 7)
Economics SL- Paper 1 (39/50, 7)
Business and Management Paper 1 (42/60, 6)
Biology HL Paper 1 (32/40, 6), Paper 3- AHL- Ecology and Conservation (31/40, 6)
My final grades for each subject are as follows:
- Anticipated Subjects (based on 2015 November grade boundaries)
- Mathematical Studies SL- Grade 7
- Economics SL- Grade 6
- Subjects completed in 2016 (based on 2016 November grade boundaries)
- Business and Management HL- Grade 6
- Biology HL- Grade 5
- English HL- Grade 6
- Chinese B SL- Grade 7
- Extended Essay- A
- Theory of Knowledge- C
- Final IB score- 39
I also provide acceleration for those looking to take on the IB. Tutoring for the fundamental reading, writing and arithmetic areas are also available for younger year groups (Years 4-10). In-person tutoring as well as Skype lessons are available in both a one-on-one and group lesson format.
Most hobbies I currently have were carried on from my high school education. I continue to play the cello leisurely after performing for the school orchestra and gaining my CMus (Certificate of Performance in Music). I also enjoy playing chess and various sports, having competed at both a school and state level. Walking around in nature is also an interest of mine, and I have only been more immersed in the experience after completing my Gold Award for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme.
LOCATION AND COST
I am willing to travel to you or to meet at a common area (library or café). I live in the Glebe area so the best place would be in the CBD. I am also happy to meet near UNSW (University or New South Wales). I am available evenings from Friday to Sunday.
My costs are $50 per hour for private tutoring and $40 per hour for group tutoring (3 per group maximum). I also look over Internal Assessments and Extended Essays for $50 and $30 thereafter. This involves me thoroughly looking through the assignment in detail, commenting on what could be improved to get a higher grade. My feedback follows the rubric of that assignment, also entailing in a final mark and grade after each assignment.
I look forward to hearing from you so we can discuss further and hopefully offer you the best for your IB studies.
