ABOUT ME

Hey, I’m Jainil Patel and I graduated in 2020 with 44/45 points in the IB diploma (a 99.75 ATAR). As a high-achieving student pursuing the Bachelor of Commerce (Actuarial Studies) at the University of Melbourne, I am delighted to offer Year 10-12 English and Maths tutoring (having scored 6/7 for English Literature, and 7/7 for Mathematics SL).

My teaching approach is simple but powerful: I know that to get the best grades, a student has to understand the theory, be able to apply that theory and have the self-confidence to face difficult exam situations. All three elements are crucial, because without the confidence a hard prompt for English or a complex problem for math can become stressful and lead to poor performance. I have volunteer tutored for 2 years in my school and found this formula to work like magic.

By tutoring with me, you can rest assured that I will help you identify which elements you struggle with, then work towards implementing strategies to deal with them. If the student needs help on the theory, then I’ll gladly explain how to structure a quality response or how the maths concept fits into the real world. If it is application that the student fears, then I will provide a comprehensive list of practice questions from a range of difficulty levels. This will boost their ability to recognise what the question asks of them, and form an excellent answer. Moreover, through forming a connection with the student’s uncertainties, worries or concerns about math or English, I will quickly help them foster their self-confidence to ace their exams.

So, what are you waiting for? Get in contact to help you achieve the scores you most deserve.
