Hi, I’m Grace, and I’m an English, Maths, Science and Music tutor for Primary and Middle School (year 7/8) students. Thanks for taking the time to read my profile!
I am 18 years old and graduated from Yarra Valley Grammar School in 2020 with an ATAR 93.80. I also obtained study scores of 39 in Literature, 45 in Psychology, 41 in Biology, 38 in Legal Studies and 38 in Math Methods. In March I will begin my study of a Bachelor of Forensic Science and Criminology at Deakin University.
I have a passion for working with developing students to bring out their academic best and increase their confidence in their own abilities. As a student who has just experienced her Year 12 under the pressure of drastically different circumstances, I understand the importance of an open and strong support system, and its contribution to feeling successful and competent in school. As a tutor for students who are just beginning their school journey, or who are transitioning into the demands of Middle and High school, my top priority is to act as this support, and to provide them with undivided care and assistance to improve on their abilities and reach their academic heights.
I hope to be an outlet for students to be vulnerable and show their weaknesses without judgement. I believe that it is through open communication, compassion and collaboration that we can build a strong foundation for improvement and confidence. I also strive to remain dedicated but open minded, tailoring my approach to each individual student to ensure I am providing them with the best support possible. Most importantly though, my passion for teaching and collaborating will allow me to push my students, encourage them to reach further than their comfort zone, and become diligent, positive and confident students. Ultimately, I hope to become a mentor and friend to my students as we work together to achieve their personal best!
I offer tutoring in English, Maths, Science and Music. I have extensive experience in English, Maths and Science, as my Year 12 results display, an in addition I have been involved significantly in music since the age of three. For those students in younger year levels I can tutor general music theory, technique and understanding.
For all subjects I can offer a range of supporting materials, including:
- Written notes on topics of concern
- engaging verbal explanations
- effective and valuable feedback on work
- Assistance in organisation and time management
- practice questions and worksheets
- alternative fun ways of learning (games, quizzes)
I am available for both in-person an online sessions (DUE TO COVID 19 IN PERSON SESSIONS ARE CURRENTLY NOT POSSIBLE), and will attempt to be flexible to meet your scheduling needs.
In addition, I hold a Working with Children check and am competent in working with younger children through my current work experience.
I am excited to hear from you and thank you for considering me!
