Hi there! I’m Devna, a Year 7 – 10 English, VCE English (47) & VCE Global Politics (40) Tutor, and I’m here to help you meet your academic goals and reach your potential!
**********ABOUT ME AND QUALIFICATIONS**********
Hi there! Thank you for visiting my profile! I hope study is going well and look forward to working with you!
I’m Devna and I’m currently in my fourth year of an Arts(Global)/Commerce degree at Monash University. I graduated from Presbyterian Ladies College in 2013 attaining a study score of 47 (Raw) for VCE English and 40 (scaled) for VCE Global Politics.
Not only is it my passion but also I believe that it is my duty to pass on those key exam essential tips and general VCE knowledge to current VCE students. By mentoring you, I want to help you with understanding those tricky concepts and heavy content, exam technique and learning the way you go about answering questions as well ensuring you stay motivated throughout the VCE period.
I extend my focus on tutoring students of younger year levels (ie. before VCE where it gets all tricky), as I believe that perfecting skills and techniques at a younger level is vital for academic success later on. I aim to ensure my students gain a more sound understanding of concepts and techniques throughout our sessions. It is this passion and interest in a subject that will aid you in working hard and succeeding within that subject. I have experience tutoring various different year levels all the way from Prep – Year 10 and have an extremely good understanding tackling heavy content and concepts in a manner, which suits the students level and needs.
I believe that balance, hard work, determination and an overall positive attitude is the best way to attain academic success. This will ensure that you stay motivated in the most difficult weeks of schooling as well as allowing you to reach your maximum potential.
I have 3+ years tutoring experience in all levels of English, VCE English and Global Politics. I studied these text for VCE English in 2013: The Rugmaker of Mazar-e-Sharif, Years of Wonders, On the Waterfront (film) and Life of Galileo. However, I have worked with students who did different novels and themes for their context piece, so I am well versed in many texts.
