A little bit about me is that I am a first year Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Honours) student at the University of Queensland (UQ) St Lucia campus. My peers would describe me as friendly, kind and trustworthy. I love to crack a joke every now and again to make occasionally intense study sessions easier to be a part of.
I would prefer to do two hour lessons with high school students as this allows suitable time for questions and there is no rush; however, this decision is of course still at the discretion of the parent and student. I believe that with the right kind of tutoring, any student is capable of receiving awesome grades and reaching their full potential. I would like to begin with grades 5-10 as this will be my first year tutoring. I have helped my fellow peers in the past, which has built my confidence in explaining difficult concepts.
For example, I am able to deconstruct an assignment into its smaller component parts so that it’s easier for a student to grasp. I have great organization and time-management skills that I hope to impart on my future students. I understand that tutoring isn’t all about the grades and it could even be as simple as building their inner confidence. I believe that one of my main priorities will be to teach students to not purely rely on outside help, but to rather become independent in their learning. However, I will always be there to help as a back-up, especially when there’s time constraints and exam stress! As I know all about this one. I hope you consider me when choosing your child’s tutor.
My final Year 12 results:
- Biology – A
- Legal Studies – A
- Modern History – A
- Maths A (General Maths) – A
- English – A-
- Music – B
I received an OP 3 with these achievements, which is the equivalent to an ATAR score of 97.
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I am available to tutor in the Indooroopilly and St Lucia area. I would prefer to tutor in the libraries located there, such as the library inside the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and the libraries on the St Lucia University campus. However, in an emergency I am able to come to you as my father works from home. My hourly rate is $30 p/h.
I am also available for online tutoring and the cost is $30p/h.
My availability is quite open as I may tutor throughout the week after school hours e.g. 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. and on a Saturday. I am currently seeking a casual employment position on top of this, but my employment should not interfere too much with your child’s learning as I will always make time during the week to see them. I will only take a maximum of two students so that I have enough time to focus on their learning.
