Hi there! Thank you for taking the time to visit my profile.
I attained EAs in English Literature, Biology and Chemistry in 2017, graduating from Elizabeth College with the state’s top ATAR of 99.95. I received the Reverend Dr James Scott Memorial Prize for outstanding achievement in English at the TCE examination, as well as the Nelly Ewers Prize for outstanding achievement by a female candidate in English Literature in a State College. Having thoroughly enjoyed my Year 11 and Year 12 studies, I hope that I can pass this passion onto other students by presenting the course material in an engaging, fascinating and interactive manner. My priority is to make sure that students thoroughly understand the curriculum and to help them develop the skills to reach their personal goals.
I have a fascination with literature and languages, which stems from a deep personal interest. In addition, I have continued my study of biology and chemistry at a tertiary level, where I am currently studying a Bachelor of Medical Research (Honours) at the University of Tasmania. My extensive knowledge of the TCE curriculum combined with the additional knowledge I have gained at university ensures that I can guide you on your way to success.
If you’re interested in long-term English tutoring, please let me know what texts you are studying so I can assist you with the main ideas in these texts. Otherwise, I am also happy to help you with essay writing, both for assignments and for exams.
I have often found through personal experience that hours spent reading through textbooks is not only dull, but ineffective. Instead, I hope to present the topic in a visual and engaging manner and encourage the student to explore beyond the curriculum to foster their personal interest.
Part of my offerings include support over phone and email 7 days a week. I will also provide an extensive range of resources to assist you in your learning and provide you with any relevant notes. I live in the Glenorchy Area and I can come to you or meet in a public library based on your personal preferences. I hold a valid, current Working with Children Check and I am available once per week (including weekends); I am flexible with time, so please feel free to negotiate. I will do my utmost best to accommodate you into my schedule.
