Hi, and thank you for taking the time to read my profile!
I received an International Baccalaureate (IB) score of 44, which translates to an ATAR of 99.85. I graduated high school in 2018 and am currently studying a combined degree of Bachelor of Laws (Honours)/Bachelor of Commerce at the Australian National University. I tutor Language & Literature, Economics, French and Sports, Exercise & Health Science in the IB, for which I received the highest notional grade (7). Being fluent in French, I tutor HSC French and French Extension. I also tutor primary and secondary school English, Maths and French.
I had a genuine liking of my IB subjects, and I attained my results by working strategically, by persevering, and by having self-confidence. I tutor because I want to instil this confidence in others.
I begin by identifying strengths and weaknesses to establish goals for each session. From there, I help my students to consolidate information learned in class to allow for a thorough understanding of the course.
My sessions are thoughtfully catered to each student’s academic needs; for example, I will apply a different learning strategy depending on whether the student is a visual learner or a more logical learner. I am consistently prepared and provide regular feedback on work produced by my students so that they can be brought closer to their academic goals. I aim to develop my students into critical thinkers that are confident in examination situations and capable of applying their knowledge in an organised, effective and insightful manner.
For IB subjects, I am able to provide my students with exam questions, practice material and notes. For all my students, I can offer phone and email support outside of tutoring hours.
