Hello! I appreciate your time and consideration to visit my tutor profile.
In year 11 and 12, I studied maths methods, specialist maths, physics, chemistry, english and religion, receiving an ATAR of 98.55. I want to make a long-lasting impact in as many students’ academic lives as I can by ensuring they understand the material in a comprehensible AND comprehensive way. My approach is to teach the fundamentals of the subject in a simple manner and then to build upon these skills by applying them to several different types of problems. This allows students to become confident and independent learners.
I am extremely passionate about maths and science (especially physics) since I believe they are based on logic and reason and are the best way to make sense of the world. I hope that my energy is infectious and fuels the students’ drive towards these subjects, translating in an inherent motivation to do well and hence receive better grades.
Numerous students have commented that my clear teaching style has helped them clarify and strengthen concepts that weren’t explained well at school. This has lead to a visible improvement in the students’ results. At the end of semester two in year 11, one of my students had a predicted ATAR of 62.5 and was extremely dissatisfied with her results. By the end of year 12, this student had received an ATAR of 87.5 and was able to pursue what they wanted at university. You too can change your grades around!
I am well-versed in all crucial constituents of the current BSSS curriculum up to a year 12 standard in the areas of specialist maths, maths methods, physics, chemistry and english. This includes:
