Greetings and Salutations,
To all who read this, I am Alex. Nerd. Tutor. Serial Joker.
I’m here to be a Maths/Science tutor for you and/or your loved ones. I’ve been tutoring Mathematics for a number of years now, at a variety of age categories, but I’m a major fan of Chemistry as well. I received A grades for both of those topics in the International Baccalaureate Senior Diploma Program (which is a real mouthful in hindsight) in the year 2013. I am EXTREMELY passionate about learning and helping people to learn. Enough to put it in bold. Now, that’s passion.
I think one major issue with many school environments is the lack of flexibility in its teaching. Learning is unique to each individual student – a ‘one size fits all’ approach to teaching isn’t optimal. Tutoring allows me to help people find their own way of learning, and give them the confidence to take their learning to the next level. I also favour a style of learning rooted in real world examples. Explaining science and maths is one thing: Explaining why it’s important and useful is another entirely, one which I feel makes the experience of learning more fulfilling and useful.
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I am currently based in both Crafers and Warradale – extra convenience!. My range of movement is limited at this point in time, but I’m also available for online tutoring lessons via Skype at most hours.
I prefer to teach individuals, but if you need up to 3 people, I can manage. More than that and you lose the intimacy that tutoring can provide – which is a major passion of mine (see above).
I am more than willing to work in your own home, or a neutral space such as a library, school or cafe.
I charge a fee of $35 p/h for my services, negotiable for differing circumstances.
As for when? You suggest a time best for you!
I look forward to being your friendly neighbourhood LearnMate!
