Thanks so much for taking the time to read my profile! My name is Adam and I’m here to help!
I believe every student can excel, but only through active, engaged, study. I aim to work with students to find ways for them to connect with their work, to improve their work, and excel in their studies. I think study should have an element of fun and I strive to introduce and maintain that fun.
Graduating in 2008, I obtained an ENTER of 93.6 with my standout achievements being a 44 in English and a 45 in English Literature. I attended RMIT, graduating in 2011, where I completed my Bachelor of Media (with a Minor in Philosophy and Literature). I am currently pursuing a Masters of Film and TV at the Victorian College of the Arts (University of Melbourne).
For VCE students, I am best equipped to help students with their English and/or English Literature subjects. I can help students find ways to engage their texts and I can help them troubleshoot their essays so to improve their grades in tangible ways. I will focus on the structure of essay writing, and I will share with students my experiences with and the techniques I used to aid in the recall of quotes and passages of text, and their relevant page references.
As a student of film, I can also help Media students find a thorough understanding of the craft of storytelling, the creation and delivery of media assets, and the theory of media as a practice. I’m also well-versed in a number of Philosophical texts and writings, so I can help a student find a deeper understanding of these ideas if they so seek it.
From Primary School through to Year 10, I can help broadly with English, Maths, IT, and the Humanities.
I work with each student individually to see what works best for them, their work, and their study, but my methods include:
pages of notes (with guided learning)
practice material (including practice exams)
examples of successful work
hands-on study material and guided study
Media students are also afforded the opportunity to get some experience with my filmmaking equipment, an excellent option for students seeking more hands-on experience with some amazing cameras and lenses, with the guidance of someone who studies and works in the field.
Thanks so much for taking the time to read this profile, I’m thrilled that you made it to the end!
I hope to hear from you soon!
