Hello, my name is Abby and I’m a 19 year old Design and communications student at Monash university.
I enjoy skiing, Oil painting, hiking and mounatin biking. I am also one of the few people that enjoied VCE. This is one of the reasons why i was able to achieve my final ATAR of 98.55 which was the highest score in 2018 in my home town. My favourite subjects at school were History Revolutions (Study score 50), Psychology (Study score 43) and Studio Art (Study score 48) but I also really enjoyed chemistry (36) and General English (42). I also did Mathematical Methods (32) in year 12 but am not confident tutoring it at a VCE level.
Equally important as my VCE scores was my tutoring experience in my Gap year.
I spent 10 months of 2019 in Darmstadt, Germany where I worked as a full-time Au Pair (nanny) and tutor. During this time I tutored Junior and Middle school students in English (as a second language) and maths. I tutored for upwards of one hour per day, every day and it was whilst doing this that I discovered my passion for tutoring. During this period I was also a full-time German language student. I was very successful at this and got a B2 certificate (which allows the recipiant to work most skilled jobs in Germany) in 6 months, I also took the TELC C1 exam (which allows foreigners to attend German universities) at the end of September and got a 54% on the exam. As a result I have experience in tutoring both second languages and conventional school subjects. I also have been able to prove by my own experience that my study techniques and knowledge is enough to get a student to the very top of the state in academic performance. I also know that I am passionate about tutoring and have the ability to make my lessons fun and productive.
I hope to be seeing you soon!
MY LOCATION, COSTS AND AVAILABILITY!
I am based at Clayton but am studying at Caulfield. I am willing to travel to the surrounding suburbs to tutor. I am available to tutor weekdays after school and some weekends. My bace rate for tutoring is $50 per hour although that is negotiable depending on the number and frequency of classes, and their relative location to Clayton or Caulfield.
